About the Program

Comprehensive NCD Program

With 33% of all deaths in Uganda due to NCDs, and 1 in 4 adults with hypertension undiagnosed, our program focuses on early detection, prevention, and management of non-communicable diseases through community-based screening and education.

Program Approach

  • Community health screening days for blood pressure, blood sugar, and BMI checks
  • Health education on lifestyle modifications (diet, exercise, smoking cessation)
  • Referral pathways to healthcare facilities for confirmed cases
  • Support groups for chronic disease management
  • Digital health tools for patient monitoring and follow-up

Key Objectives

  • Screen 10,000 adults annually for NCD risk factors
  • Reduce undiagnosed hypertension by 30%
  • Increase physical activity levels in target communities
